The Heritage series is dedicated to the company’s long history of watchmaking. Titoni’s latest creations within this series include a vintage edition of a 1950s watch and a modern retro edition inspired by the iconic timepiece of that time. Both editions are so-called Bicompax Chronographs: They come with a pair of two subdials, one register for the small second hand (at the 9 o’clock position), and one for the timed minutes (at the 3 o’clock position).
THE CAFE RACER MODEL
This modern retro edition with its visual minimalism is a modified cafe racer model based on the 1950s original. On account of the purist dial and simple appearance of the watch, this modern-retro model looks much more minimalist. However, it nevertheless features a chronograph to display elapsed time.
MODERN RETRO
Unlike the original Felca model from the 1950s, the font is more of a modern style. The indexes are bar-shaped, and thus less fancy than the Arabic numbers of the original. The watch hands, also coated with Superluminova, have a much simpler form than those used in the original watch. These were designed in the “Cathedral style”, typical for some legendary luxury watches that appeared after WWII.
VIEW OF THE CHRONOGRAPH MOVEMENT
A further feature of this watch is the transparent case back that offers a fascinating view of the chronograph movement.
CAFE RACER
A cafe racer is a type of sports motorcycle that originated among British motorcycle enthusiasts in the late 1950s in London. The trend soon became a popular subculture that went beyond the UK. Cafe racers were standard production motorbikes that had been skilfully modified by their owners and optimized for speed and handling for quick rides over short distances.
VINTAGE STYLE & THE ART OF CRAFTSMANSHIP
Today, cafe racers aren’t just about speed anymore, but also carry an individual vintage style that oozes timeless cool. These motorcycles are noted for their lightweight, visual minimalism and a classic flair. It is the passion for craftmanship and timeless style that unites TITONI and the cafe racer.
